A word of welcome

Fairways has been home to families in Lakeview since 1979, and the grounds have been looked after every year since.

Six acres of lawn, deep garden borders, stone pathways and mature trees sit inside a single-gated entrance off Dixie Road. The historically acclaimed McMaster House, initially built in 1911, still stands on the property and can be reserved for gatherings. Residents enjoy use of the outdoor pool, courts, and gardens during the summer; in the winter, the library and games room are put to use. The grounds have been maintained with care for over four decades, and the results show.

Room to actually live.

The homes here were drawn when floor plans were generous. They range from roughly 750 to 3,200 square feet across one, two and three bedroom layouts, many with dens, and a good number have been renovated by their owners over the years.

Rooms have proportions. There is a dining space, and enough wall to put furniture against.

Heritage

The house that was here first.

McMaster House stands on the same six acres as the towers, the surviving residence of the estate landscape that preceded the condominium. It is used for functions and private gatherings for residents and their guests.

There is no equivalent to it in a contemporary building, and it is the clearest expression of what Fairways is: a modern tower that inherited a much older piece of ground.

The monthly fee

What the fee covers.

The monthly maintenance fee at Fairways is all-inclusive. It carries heat, hydro, central air conditioning, water, cable television, parking and building insurance, along with the grounds, the amenities and the common elements.

Most buildings bill several of those separately, so a lower fee elsewhere is rarely comparing like with like.
